My Life & Journey as an orphan PDF  | Print |

At the institution, orphaned and abandoned children like us always look forward to the time that some couple or family will take notice of us and eventually adopt us. I must confess that envy crept my heart whenever some children leave for adoption. I also longed to be with a permanent family. But I cannot leave alone, I have to be with my siblings too, which make it quite hard to find a match. But that longing was only when I was still a little girl. Today, I have reconciled with the reality of my situation. I am better off this way together with my immediate family, my brothers and sister.

In 2004, the Lord gave us the opportunity to go to the U.S.A. together with the Doñasales kids. We attended the Leadership Training Sponsored by Institute of Basic Life and Principle (IBLP). We stayed there for almost two months and visited fifteen (15) states.

Every time the school year ends, I have motivated myself to be part of the “Achievers” group in our school. This is to show my gratitude to the Home Of Joy and Christian Growth Ministries for everything they have done for me and the other children.

I am blest to be cared for here at Home of Joy. My daily needs were provided; my character and attitudes were developed and molded by the people whom I considered not just mentors but also parents.

My life inside the institution is still colorful inspite of the hurdles that I faced everyday. I traveled a bumpy road, but here is the place where I developed my talents both in arts (like singing and dancing) I also became involved in some sports that I love to compete in.

The verse that keeps me going and reminds me of the promise of God regarding my future is in Jer. 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer. 29:11.

This scripture has great influence in every decision that I make and will make in the future.

I firmly believe that with God I shall never go wrong but instead will thrive in Jesus Name. Can I hear an Amen to that?
